Dear Readers,

I am, by profession, a high school teacher certified to teach Social Science and Physical Science. I very much enjoy teaching United States History, but my real passion is World Studies in general, and ancient Rome in particular. I am a self-taught expert on the years spanning the fall of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Principate, under the Caesars. I have spent years studying both the ancient authors such as Suetonius, Cicero, Livy, Plutarch, and Caesar, as well as the modern historians, including Adrian Goldsworthy, Lily Ross Taylor, Matthias Gelzer, and Ronald Syme.

It is my wish that in the Nomenclator series of novels I helped ancient Rome come alive for you. It was my goal that the novels would be enjoyable to read but also provide an insight into what life was like in ancient Rome. I can only hope I have succeded in some small measure.

Thank You.

Bill O'Malley
